Learn the violin quickly with Concentrated Violin

Will it be tough to learn violin at the age of 15??

Hey! you're in the same situation as I was. I started with the doube bass and then added violin to the mix when I was 14(I still play bass).

Since you already play an strings insturment, it wouldn't be as hard as someone starting off fresh. Your left hand position shouldn't be a problem if you've been holding the bass properly.

Here are some of the things you might have problems with(you'll prefect these with time):

-different scale: Becareful with the clefs. I sometimes still play the wrong notes because my mind automatically thinks I'm in the bass clef.

-fingering: remember that since you're on violin, you don't have to stretch your hand out as much. At the beginning, I found that I would always be sharp because I tend to stretch my fingers out more.

-bowing: DON'T GRIP ON THE BOW! This was my biggest problem. I learnt to have a sturdy hold of my bass bow, and had the hardest time remember that violin bowing, for the most part, requires some pressure on the index finger and the wrists. You will probably have a hard time with this as well, but you'll get use to it eventually.

One thing to note: Once I learnt the violin, I sometime found it hard to hold the bass bow again. I would unknowingly start moving my right wrist like I would on a violin- which doesn't work well at all on the bass.
